Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian at the 2017 Forbes Women’s Summit in New York. Since we no longer see Kim on a daily basis through pap strolls and selfies, I’m taken aback whenever we do get new photos of her. Her “look” changes so much, week by week. I guess “wet look” hair and eyebrows are in for 2017 in Kardashian World. Anyway, Kim is a businesswoman and I’m not shocked by her inclusion in a Forbes summit. She talked about how her current business model is moving away from licensing her name and moving towards actual ownership of brands and companies. Her latest business? A makeup company!
The OG beauty guru in the KarJenner Krew is expanding her empire. Kim Kardashian West is marking her territory in the beauty business, with a brand beauty product line that launches on June 21st. The reality TV family has a large stake in the makeup arena. In 2012, Kim, Kourtney and Khloé launched Kardashian Beauty, featuring a wide range of products. In November 2015, Kylie Jenner launched her Kylie Cosmetics empire, which has grown into a massive collection of lip, eye and cheek products. Kendall and Kourtney have gotten in on the beauty action as well, and while they haven’t created their own lines, they’ve both held roles as brand ambassadors, with partnerships with Estée Lauder and Manuka Doctor, respectively.
After creating successful apps, merchandise lines and her own lip kit collection with her sister Kylie, Kim announced her latest endeavor on Instagram, with a post that flashes the numbers 6,21,17, and links to a new Instagram account, @kkwbeauty.
Her first launch? A contouring product, of course. Kardashian shared an Instagram story announcing the news, saying,” I’m so excited to announce to you guys that I’m launching KKW Beauty.” She went on to add, “I really think you guys are gonna love it. I worked so hard on this, and we’re launching first with a contour product. It’s like a collection of cream contours. So get ready to be contoured.”
But if you thought she’d stop at makeup, you’re mistaken. Kardashian is going one step further with a fragrance in the works as well, according to a Snapchat photo that reveals bottles of fragrance, and says “KKW fragrance meeting”.
This actually sounds… smart? I’m sure you’ll yell at me for that, but would you rather buy makeup from Gwyneth Paltrow or Kim Kardashian? Who do you think knows more about makeup, honestly? And there are a lot of women out there who don’t have strong feelings about Kim Kardashian in general, but like her makeup. We can criticize all we want, but I bet this will be a huge success.
Also: Kim told the Forbes Women’s Summit that the expansion of her Kimoji product line is a huge success. Which doesn’t surprise me at all.
